Hot stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated stones. The heat from the stones is deeply relaxing, helps tight muscles release, and increases the blood flow to the area being worked on which accelerates the healing process.

QUALIFICATIONS OF AN RMT
Massage Therapists must attend a government approved vocational school before taking a provincial exam. Upon successful completion, the therapist registers with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, the governing body, and is given a registration number, allowing the therapist to practice.
When the therapist is a practicing RMT they are required to do continuing education. This allows the therapist to keep updated on new techniques and other modalities.
Massage Therapists are regulated by the Health Professions Act, which regulates nurses, physicians, dentists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, pharmacists, etc.
